Artwork Requirements
Submitting Artwork for Custom Medals, Coins, Pins & Keychains
Providing the right artwork file helps us produce your custom medals, challenge coins, lapel pins, or keychains faster and with better detail. This page explains the file formats we accept, design best practices, and how we handle files that need adjustment.
Recommended File Formats
Vector files are preferred because they can be scaled to any size without losing quality. This ensures clean lines and sharp text on your final product.
- AI (Adobe Illustrator): Best for logos, text, and line art
- PDF: Preferred when exported from vector software with fonts outlined
- EPS: Standard vector format compatible with most design programs
- CDR (CorelDRAW): Common format for overseas designers
Accepted Raster File Formats
If you do not have vector artwork, high-resolution raster files can also be used. Please make sure the image is clear and large enough for our design team to trace accurately.
- PSD (Photoshop): Preferred raster format with layers intact
- PNG: Acceptable if resolution is 300 DPI or higher
- JPG: Acceptable if high resolution and not heavily compressed
- TIFF: High-quality format suitable for tracing
Design Best Practices
Outline Fonts
Convert all text to outlines or curves to prevent font substitution issues.
Use Solid Colors
Avoid gradients and shadows. Use solid colors and specify Pantone codes when possible.
Keep Lines Thick Enough
Minimum line thickness is 0.3 mm for metal raised lines. Thinner lines may not reproduce clearly.
Separate Colors
Each enamel color area should be clearly separated by metal lines in the design.
Minimum Line Thickness and Detail
| Element | Minimum Size |
|---|---|
| Raised metal lines | 0.3 mm |
| Small text height | 1.5 mm |
| Color separation gaps | 0.3 mm |
| Inner cutouts | 1.0 mm |
Pantone Color Matching
We can match Pantone Solid Coated colors for enamel fills. If Pantone codes are not provided, our team will select the closest standard color. For printed PVC products, CMYK color matching is also available.
