Factory Tour
Our factory in Dongguan, China combines modern equipment with experienced craftspeople to produce custom medals, challenge coins, badges, keychains, and awards. This virtual factory tour explains the departments, machinery, and quality controls that turn your design into finished products.
Design and Mold Making
Every custom product starts with artwork approval. Our design team reviews files for manufacturing feasibility and creates a 3D rendering or production proof. For die-cast and stamped products, skilled toolmakers carve steel molds with CNC and EDM machines. Mold quality directly affects detail, consistency, and production speed.
Die Casting and Stamping
Zinc alloy medals and coins are produced by die casting, where molten metal is injected into a steel mold under pressure. Brass and copper items are typically stamped or struck. Each method is chosen based on material, detail level, order quantity, and budget.
Polishing, Plating, and Finishing
After casting or stamping, parts are polished to remove surface imperfections. They then move to electroplating for gold, silver, nickel, copper, black nickel, or antique finishes. Additional finishing includes sandblasting, brushing, and edge trimming. See our plating options page for details.
Color Filling and Assembly
Recessed areas are filled with soft enamel, imitation hard enamel, or printed colors. Each color is cured, inspected, and leveled. Finally, medals are attached to ribbons, packaged, and prepared for shipment.
Quality Control
Quality checks happen at every stage: material incoming, casting, polishing, plating, color, assembly, and final packing. Our QC team uses visual inspection, measuring tools, and sample testing to ensure consistency. Read more on our quality control page.
