Custom Quoting Guide
How Custom Medal, Coin & Pin Pricing Works
Custom products are priced based on many variables. A single "unit price" is rarely accurate without knowing your design, material, process, quantity, and finishing requirements. This guide explains what we consider when preparing your quotation.
Product Type
Medals, challenge coins, lapel pins, keychains, badges, and trophies each have different production methods and cost structures.
Quantity
Higher quantities reduce the per-unit cost because mold and setup costs are spread across more pieces. Minimum order quantities vary by product type.
Size & Shape
Larger products use more material and may require larger molds. Complex shapes or cut-outs can add tooling cost.
Material & Process
Zinc alloy, brass, iron, and stainless steel each have different material costs. Die casting, stamping, etching, soft enamel, hard enamel, and printing processes also affect price.
Plating & Finish
Gold, silver, nickel, bronze, antique finishes, black nickel, rose gold, and dual plating have different prices. Antique finishes often require extra polishing steps.
Special Effects
3D relief, cut-out, spinner, glow-in-the-dark, glitter, transparent enamel, epoxy dome, LED, magnets, and bottle opener functions increase cost due to complexity.
Packaging
PVC bags, velvet pouches, plastic capsules, acrylic boxes, gift boxes, wooden boxes, and custom branded packaging each add different cost and weight.
Shipping
Freight cost depends on destination country, package weight, delivery speed (FedEx/DHL/UPS/TNT, economy or priority), and any import duties.
